The Parade!

Our ward had a really cute float in the parades on Friday and Saturday. The theme was "If I could I would go to the Beach!" and everyone dressed up like they would if they were going to the beach. Here are some pictures...
Jennifer and her friends having a great time! The young women were in charge of the banner, so Sydney and I got to hold it along with another girl in our ward. Our ward had a great show up of primary kids to walk with the float!

Devin helped pull the float for the Singles Ward, and their theme was something like, "If I could I would kiss as many frogs as I can until I find my prince." All the girls were dressed up as Princesses, and all the boys pulling the float were wearing frog suits!

Devin is in the front on the left.

Father's Day scavenger hunt!

For Father's Day my mom and I made my dad a scavenger hunt. There were 10 clues that led him all over the house and a few were even outside. Each clue led him to the next clue, and at the end there was a basket full of things that he likes. Some of the clues were pretty hard to figure out, and some of them were easier. But over all, he didn't really need any help and I think he enjoyed it! The rest of us had a great time laughing and watching as he struggled to figure out a few of them. My dad saved the clues, so here they are!

Reading Clue #1:
For your first clue, go to where you should never leave a shoe!
(My dad hates it when we leave our shoes by the front door.)
Putting his shoes on after reading Clue #2:
This clue is hiding on something that you peddle while riding!
(On one of the bikes in the shed.)
He was very confused on the next one. Clue #3:
Inside your bedroom is where you'll look next... I think someone may have received a text!

(We typed the next clue as a text on the kids phone that sits on his dresser.)

Getting Clue #4:
This clue will be a bit more tricky... Look on top of something sticky!

(On top of the honey in the pantry.)

He got this one pretty fast. Clue #5:
This clue is found in something that can be very hot. During barbecues it's also a great thought!

(Inside the grill.)

This clue took him a while and we were all laughing pretty hard! Clue #6:
To find this clue, up is where you should look. But first- go to the place where we cook!

(It's rolled up in the mouth of the duck ontop of the cupboards! We don't really know why he looked inside the oven when the clue said to look up...)
Notice that in the picture below he's actually looking right at it...

I didn't get a picture of him finding every clue, so here are the rest...
Clue #7:
For this clue, watch out because you could get wet! It's used to water the garden even though we don't have one yet!
(Behind the hose in the backyard.)
Clue #8:
This clue is number 8, oh great! Only a few more left... we hope you're not getting board!

(This one was hilarious! We wrote the next clue on our white board on the 8th of June, but right after he read the clue he said, "Well, I'll go see if I have any 2 by 8's in the garage." Eventually he did get it.)
Clue #9:
To go from place to place you drive one of these. To find the next clue, look where you put your keys!

(folded up and stuck in the ignition of his car.)

Clue #10:
This time you won't be looking for a clue, instead it's something even better just for you! All you have to do is look next to the shampoo!

(We have 3 showers in the house, so he had to look in all of them to find his present.)

This basket is the present he found... In it was a new tie, some treats that he likes, peaches, a card from mom, and a card from the kids. It was a Father's Day to remember!

Trip to the zoo!

We went to the zoo as a family the other day (except Devin because he had to work) and we had a great time! I took lots and lots of pictures, so these are only a few of them.

ANIMALS!

This guy looks like he's about had it...

It was fun to watch the elephants stuff their mouth full of hay.

These bears were putting on quite a show...

This baby monkey kept us entertained for a long time with all of his tricks...

We all loved to look up through the tubes and see the gophers right by our face!

Devin's 18th Birthday!

Yesterday Devin turned 18! Isn't that just crazy? His friends surprised him by taking him to iHop for breakfast, and he also went to dinner with his mom and dad. Brianna and Michelle tried to make him a "CD player" cake, but it wasn't as easy as it looked on the paper! We ended up just eating the cake plain, but it was still good! Happy Birthday Devin!

Painting is over!

We finished painting our house, and it looks great! It makes our house look brand new, and everyone loves it! Bonnie and Russel came over and helped us, and we couldn't have done it without them! Thanks guys!
